Club, coaches, & players must have an AAU Membership to participate in any of the AAU Youth Series Tournaments.
For all questions please e-mail Hannah at hannah@lavb.net.
The first tournament is meant to be a “PREP” tournament. Since the AAU Youth Series is meant for the younger and newer players in volleyball, the 1st tournament is a chance to let them play in a “competitive” format with numbered jerseys, yet in a relaxed learning type environment. We like to tell the parents that the 1st tournament is a “practice/preparation” tournament, where we do not emphasize “winning” but learning. The main goal is to build self-confidence. We ask them to stay relaxed and just enjoy watching their children and their teams learn the nuances of the game.
* It is a chance for Players and Coaches to learn the skills needed for tournament play such as; Refereeing, substitutions, keeping score, lining up, changing sides of the court, rotations, etc.
* Officiating is relaxed.
* Coaches are still allowed to assist on the court within reason.
* Coaches will referee(R1)
* We record score but not for seeding purpose.
